The commencement of the Worcester Monday Netball League saw a high voltage drama on the courts last night. The first week of the season witnessed a series of riveting matches in both the Premier League and Division 1, with teams demonstrating their prowess and strategy right from the onset.
In the Premier League, the Worcester Ravens outpaced the Perdiswell Shooters with a final score of 22-14. The Ravens showcased some deft play with a combination of agile footwork and accurate shooting, proving why they're considered a team to watch in the league. In another Premier League face-off, The Rockets soared ahead of the Severn Sirens, clinching victory with a 23-19 score.
In Division 1, it was a battle of equals, with Worcester Ladies taking on the Worcester Sauces. The Ladies emerged victorious with a 12-8 win, in what was a tightly contested match.
The standout performance, however, was by Helen Pittam from Worcester Ladies, who was deservedly named the Most Valued Player of the week. Her exceptional performance under pressure, combined with her relentless pursuit of the ball, set the tone for the rest of the team. Pittam's sporting spirit and notable performance were a testament to her team's victory, and she is undoubtedly a player to watch this season.
