As we all looked forward to the action of week three of the Tamworth Thursday Netball League, the matches were a sight to behold, with teams displaying exceptional skill and tenacity on the court.
In the League showdown, it was a night of intense rivalry and thrilling competition. Rivers Runners playing the River Hot Shots with an outstanding 21-4 victory. The Rivers Phoenix didn't give the Rivers Swimmers a chance, sealing a 15-4 win. Not to be outdone, the Rivers Divas showed no mercy against the River Rebels, dominating the game with a massive 27-6 scoreline.
But the real nail-biter of the evening was the match between River Warriors and River Riders. The Warriors showed true grit, edging out the Riders by a slim margin of 13-11. It was an exhilarating game, and a true testament to the competitive spirit of the league.
Amidst the exhilarating week of matches, one player stood head and shoulders above the rest. Bethany Astley of Rivers Swimmers was named the most valued player of the week. Despite the team's result, Astley's performance was a beacon of brilliance, showcasing her deft handling and sharp shooting skills.
