Stoke-on-trent Thursday Social netball - Update

It was great to see everyone in attendance once again for the Stoke on Trent Social netball in the opening game of the new season.

We return back to Fenton Manor Sports Complex for this week’s games on the 27th June.

I would like to remind all players and teams that if you are bringing children along with you that they must sit on the benches or chairs provided, it goes without saying that the netball court can be dangerous for them and you if they are around the court where umpires are located.  We don’t want to experience any unnecessary accidents and especially ones involving little ones. As a mother writing this I understand how hard it is to get any child to keep still, but if they are to come along with you please ensure that they are seated on a bench/chair at all times this is for everyone’s safety.

Match Report

In a thrilling start to the season, the Stoke-on-Trent social netball teams swooped into action last night, with the Flames, Game Of Throws, and Queen Bees emerging victorious in their respective matches.

The Flames fought a grueling match against The Swans. Despite a hard-fought battle, The Flames emerged victorious with a score of 11 to 8. The Swans' standout player, Ashleigh Payne, proved her metal on the court, earning the title of the week's Most Valued Player.

Meanwhile, the Game Of Throws clashed with the Chaotic Misfits, dominating their competitors with an impressive 20 to 7 victory. The High Ballers were not so lucky against the Queen Bees, who stung their rivals with a decisive 10 to 2 win.

The top scorers for each team were instrumental in their success. For the Flames, the Swans, Game Of Throws, Chaotic Misfits, High Ballers, and Queen Bees, their top scorers' contributions were crucial in shaping the outcome of the night's matches.

With the season now in full swing, the Stoke-on-Trent Thursday Social netball league promises thrilling matches and exceptional displays of skill, week after week, where the competition promises to be fierce but always friendly. As evident from the opening matches, this season is set to be one of the most exciting yet. With players like Ashleigh Payne, netball fans are in for a treat. Stay tuned for more updates in the upcoming weeks.
