Charlbury Wednesday Social netball update 3rd March

In the latest fixtures of the Charlbury Wednesday Social Netball League at Charlbury Community Centre, teams once again gathered for a night of friendly competition, maintaining the positive atmosphere that has characterised the league throughout the season. Despite the competitive nature of the matches, sportsmanship and camaraderie were evident across all teams:

We would like to remind all players that nails need to be short and the guideline for this is by looking at your hands with the palms facing up. If you can see your nails, then they are too long and need to be filed or cut. If you are reluctant to do this, then gloves must be worn to prevent injuries to fellow players. If this is not adhered to, then the umpires can refuse participation.

The Wildcats continued their dominant run with an impressive 11-4 victory over the Sky Shooters. Despite the loss, Alice Read of the Sky Shooters demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, earning her the Player of the Match award.

The Pocket Rockets narrowly edged out the Flaming Divas in a closely contested match, securing a 5-4 victory. Both teams displayed resilience and teamwork on the court, contributing to an exciting and competitive game.

Ball Saints emerged victorious with a 5-2 win over the Charlbury Shooters. Despite the defeat, Fiona Dangerfield from Charlbury Shooters stood out for her exemplary sportsmanship, always expressing gratitude towards the umpires and opposition regardless of the result.

The Netchicks claimed a 10-6 victory over Shoot For The Stars, with Abi Souter earning the Player of the Match award for her standout performance. The Netchicks' teamwork and determination propelled them to success in their final fixture of the evening.

As the season progresses, the Wildcats maintain their position at the top of the division, holding a comfortable lead of 6 points over second-placed Ball Saints. Their consistent performance and teamwork have been key to their success throughout the season.

The Charlbury Wednesday Social Netball League continues to provide an enjoyable and inclusive environment for players to come together and enjoy the sport they love. With each match, teams showcase their skills and sportsmanship, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of the league.
