The new season of the Cannock Sunday Netball League kicked off last night, and the League division witnessed an adrenaline-charged start, as teams battled it out on the court in pursuit of early dominance.

Leading the charge in the League, The Cheeky Chasers set the bar high with a dominant 19-5 victory over Cannock Chaos. Their strategic play and expert passes led to a riveting showdown, serving as an electrifying start to the season.

Not far behind in the thrill factor was a nail-biting face-off between Go Net It and Dream Team, with the former emerging victorious by a single point in a 17-16 win. The match was a demonstration of excellent attacking and defensive tactics that had spectators on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

But the spotlight of the evening was undoubtedly on Cannock Comets, who managed a narrow 9-7 victory over Pocket Rockets. Comets' star player, Leanne Williscroft, was lauded as the most valued player of the week with her exceptional performance. Williscroft’s agility and precision on the court were instrumental in leading her team to victory.

Meanwhile, Chase Chicks also made their mark in the Premier League with a decisive 14-5 win against Good Sports, rounding off the first week of action in the division.

With the season now in full swing, it's clear that there's no shortage of action, excitement, and talent in the Cannock Sunday Netball League. As the teams continue to vie for the top spots, the stage is set for an enthralling season of netball.
