Cannock Sunday - End of Season
Well that’s a wrap for this season. All the teams have massively improved, its been a delight to see each and every one of you grow and develop into such brilliant netballers over the past 14 weeks.
The night started off with Cheeky Chasers and Cannock Chaos, it was a really well matched battle of fierce attacking and amazing interceptions. Despite loosing 5-13 to Cheeky Chasers, the Chaos girls were supported on by the cutest little cheer-squad, Daisy, only another 16 yrs til she can join mum on court!
Dream Team’s defence was on fire tonight, but Cannock Commets weren’t going down without a fight, incredible work turning over the Centres to make it their own, and even when WA Katie hit the decks with 4 minutes left on the clock - wishing you a speedy recovery - they were able to hold on to the lead, 8-2.
The most anticipated game of the night, Chase Chicks vs Pocket Rockets and it don’t disappoint, a very lively match of skill and passion. Shooting was enpointe but both teams fell victim to the left goal post’s circling rejection of the ball. It was a nail biting game right up to the final whistle which saw Pocket Rockets take the win, 10-6.
The final match of the night and this season, saw Go Net It win 15-9 in a tightly contested match against Good Sports. They gave it their all and left everything on the court, some really good passing and great on court communication from both teams.
We’re so lucky that this Cannock league has a real sense of community and everyone is so supportive of each other. It’s also great to see spectators of all ages coming week on week, thank you to them too.
Also, don’t forget 22/12/24, the last match of the year
will be a Christmasy celebration complete with a fancy dress competition.
