Last night marked the exciting kick-off of the Burntwood Sunday 7 a side Netball league. Netball enthusiasts congregated in their numbers as week one of the fresh season unfolded with exhilarating games in both the Premier League and Division 1.

In the Premier League, Goal Diggers set a robust pace with a convincing 14-6 victory over Un Touch A Balls. Burntwood 7's followed suit, securing an impressive 18-12 triumph against Spice Goals. Nether Belles rounded out the Premier League clashes with a hard-fought 15-11 win over All Rounders.

Division 1 was equally as competitive, with A Little Rusty establishing an early lead in the standings after defeating Rogue Angels, 19-9. Amid the fierce competition, Purple Panthers edged out Bluebirds 14-12 in a nail-biting showdown. Destructive Divas emerged victorious in their debut game, racking up 18 goals against Flaming Divas, who managed to score 5.

The first week of the season was not without its standout performances. The most valued player honor fell to the agile Faith Pearson of All Rounders. Pearson’s skill and athleticism were on full display, earning her the recognition and respect of both her teammates and competitors.

As the Burntwood Sunday Netball League season progresses, fans and players alike are eagerly anticipating more thrilling matchups, spectacular shots, and commendable sportsmanship. With each team proving capable of top-level play, the coming weeks promise a delightfully unpredictable and highly competitive season of netball. As the teams move forward, the primary question remains: Who will rise to the top in each division?

For now, the top scorers in the Premier League are Goal Diggers, Burntwood 7's, and Nether Belles, while A Little Rusty, Purple Panthers, and Destructive Divas lead in Division 1. But as the season is just beginning, there's a lot of netball left to play.
